Worship: The Heart Of PPC

Worship at PPC is focused on the worship of God through engagement with word written (which points to the living Word, Jesus) and the sacraments of Communion and Baptism.  Through prayer, song, sermon and the sharing of our time, talents and treasure, we worship and respond to God's activity in, through and among us.  We are intentionally inter-generational and experience the fullest expression of the body of Christ when our youngest and most senior members worship, serve Christ through mission and community engagement, and grow our faith

together

Worship is for, and about, God.   (1 Chronicles 16:27-29; 2 Kings 17:36
). First off, worship is not even about us to begin with. Worship is about God. While we come to each Sunday service with our own preferences in musical styles or biblical translations, worship is not about pleasing us.  Sunday service is the activity we join with us as we give our best for the worship of The One who calls us by name, claims us as God's own, washes us with abundant grace, saves us in this life and in the one to come and empowers us for ministry.

Liturgists, Greeters, Fellowship Hosts & Ushers: At Penfield Presbyterian, anyone can help lead worship as a liturgist, greeter, fellowship host or usher.  Liturgists serve by leading the people as we call ourselves to worship, in corporate prayers, through the reading of scripture and by greeting worshippers at the close of the service.  Greeters welcome newcomers and familiar friends as they arrive for Sunday Worship at 10:00.  Fellowship Hosts provide hospitality after the service through providing seasonal refreshments.  Ushers collect the morning offerings and pledges.  Sign up sheets are located on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary.  You can also be added to one of these ministry lists by contacting the church office M-F from 1:00 - 5:00 at 377-1620 or by email at ppcadmin@rochester.rr.com
